Chiredzi – The Lowveld Football Development Academy, situated in Triangle Chiredzi, has rapidly emerged as a significant player in the nurturing of football talent within Zimbabwe.
Established in September last year, the academy has made remarkable strides, placing a total of 14 of its players into Division 1 football teams across the country.

Five players have joined Mutare City Rovers FC and are the following:
- Keegan Muvhiringi (Midfielder)
- Kenneth Mujaya (Striker)
- Lenon Malaga (Defender)
- Tarirai Mukanga (Striker)
- Emmanuel Chinamatira (Goalkeeper)
One player has joined Risitu Tigers FC:
- Talkmore Zunga (Defender)
One player has joined Destiny FC:
- Sheldon Zhou (Striker)
One Player joined Wangu Mazodze FC:
- Nathan Raphael Kusizani (Defender)
Two players joined James West FC:
- Azaria Njonje (Midfielder)
- George Gweru (Defender)
One player joined Shesham FC:
- Silas Tagwirei (Defender)
One player joined Bishop Stone FC:
- Webbington Patrick Muzembi (Midfielder)
With One player joined Great Zimbabwe FC:
- Trevor Maluwani (Midfielder)

The success of these signings has been met with enthusiasm from the academy’s leadership. Archiford Guvuriro, the President and Founder of the academy, expressed his delight at the achievements, noting that he had not anticipated such a high number of players to be signed so quickly.
“I am thrilled to see our players being recognized and signed by top Division 1 teams,” Guvuriro stated. “This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our coaching staff, players, and everyone involved in the academy.”
Coach Taka, who has played a crucial role in the development of the players, emphasized the importance of hard work and resilience. “We are proud of our players and the progress they have made,” he said. “We will continue to work hard and push our players to reach their full potential. Expect even more fireworks in the future.”
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Chikwava, the Academy Team Manager, reflected on the skepticism the academy faced during its early days. “We faced a lot of doubt when we first started,” he acknowledged.
“But we remained focused and committed to our vision. We are proud of what we have achieved so far, and we will continue to work hard to produce top-class players.”
