Nyanga – Emmanuel High School has recorded an outstanding academic performance after achieving a 94.37 percent overall pass rate in the November 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Ordinary Level examinations, a result that school authorities have described as a triumph of discipline, teamwork, and value-driven education.

The results, released this past week, show strong performances across languages, sciences, humanities, heritage studies, commercial subjects, and technical learning areas, with several subjects attaining a 100 percent pass rate.

The achievement places Emmanuel High School among institutions that continue to demonstrate resilience and consistency in Zimbabwe’s evolving education landscape.

Speaking on the results, Principal Mr. Kenneth Mutukumira said the school’s performance was a reflection of unity of purpose among learners, teachers, parents, and the school administration.

“These results did not come by chance. They are the outcome of discipline, prayer, hard work, and a shared vision between the school, the home, and the learner. We are proud of our students for believing in themselves and staying focused despite the challenges of the year,” said Mr. Mutukumira.

He added that the school remains committed to nurturing both academic excellence and strong moral character, noting that education must prepare learners not only for examinations, but for life.

Languages anchored the school’s success, with Shona Language recording an impressive 97.26 percent pass rate, supported by a strong distribution of A and B grades.

The result highlights Emmanuel High School’s emphasis on indigenous language development and cultural identity.

English Language achieved a solid 89.47 percent pass rate, a commendable outcome for a subject that often poses challenges at national level. Education observers note that the performance reflects effective teaching strategies and strong learner engagement in reading and writing skills.

In the humanities, Geography recorded a strong 91.16 percent pass rate, while History achieved 74.00 percent, showing steady performance with room for further improvement, particularly in analytical components.

One of the school’s most encouraging performances came from Family and Religious Studies (FRS), which achieved an impressive 96.61 percent pass rate. The subject, which focuses on family life education, moral values, citizenship, and religious understanding, continues to play a key role in shaping responsible and disciplined learners.

Commenting on the subject successes in Heritage Studies and FRS, Headmaster Mr. Shingirai Chiwawa said the results reflected the school’s strong emphasis on values-based education.

“At Emmanuel High School, we believe that academic excellence must go hand in hand with moral uprightness. The strong performance in Heritage Studies and FRS show that our learners are not only passing exams, but are also growing into responsible citizens with sound values,” said Mr. Chiwawa.

The sciences produced mixed but promising outcomes. Biology emerged as one of the strongest subjects, achieving a remarkable 98.33 percent pass rate. Chemistry followed with 91.11 percent, while Combined Science recorded 79.19 percent.

However, Physics recorded 49.09 percent, while Mathematics achieved a commendable 56.0 percent that still provides room for further improvement, prompting renewed focus on targeted academic support.

“We are strengthening support systems in Mathematics and Physics through additional revision lessons, improved access to learning materials, and enhanced teacher development,” said Mr. Mutukumira.

Commercial and practical subjects delivered exceptional results. Business Enterprise Studies and Heritage Studies both recorded 100 percent pass rates, while Principles of Accounting achieved 83.33 percent.

Technical and practical learning areas also stood out. Agriculture recorded 97.78 percent, Computer Science, Textile Technology, Technical Graphics Design, and Musical Arts each achieved 100 percent, while Wood Technology posted 92.86 percent.

“These subjects equip our learners with practical skills that prepare them for both further education and self-reliance,” said Mr. Chiwawa.

With a 94.37 percent overall pass rate, Emmanuel High School has laid a strong foundation for future success.

School authorities say the focus will now be on consolidating strengths while addressing weaker areas, particularly in Mathematics and Physics.

As the Class of 2025 prepares to move on to Advanced Level studies, vocational training, or entrepreneurship, the results stand as a testament to disciplined leadership, committed teaching, and determined learners.

Emmanuel High School’s 2025 ZIMSEC Ordinary Level results send a powerful message of resilience, values, and excellence.
