Local News – ZANU PF National Cell Day 2026 witnessed massive participation across Zimbabwe on Saturday as millions of party members gathered in villages, towns, cities and Diaspora Districts to commemorate one of the ruling party’s most significant annual events, reaffirming the central role of grassroots structures in strengthening organisational unity and supporting Zimbabwe’s development agenda.
The nationwide programme saw members convene in their respective party cells from the country’s ten provinces, with members of the Presidium leading by example after attending their home area Cells across the country.
The annual National Cell Day has become a defining feature of the ZANU PF calendar, bringing together party members at the grassroots to review progress, strengthen organisational structures, verify membership records and reaffirm commitment to the party’s founding principles and national aspirations.
Thousands Gather Across All Provinces
From Harare to Bulawayo, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, Midlands, Manicaland, Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South, party members assembled at their designated cells in what party officials described as one of the largest coordinated grassroots mobilisation exercises of the year.
Meetings were characterised by strong attendance from party leadership, war veterans, women, youths and ordinary members, reflecting the importance attached to grassroots participation.

Senior Party Officials Lead by Example
The highlight of the day was by the two Vice Presidents Hon. Gen. Rtd. Dr. CDGN. Chiwenga and Hon. Col. KCD. Mohadi who attended their Cell meetings in Wedza and Beitbridge respectively.
Their attendance underscored the long-standing principle within ZANU PF that every member, regardless of rank or position, belongs to a party cell and is expected to participate in grassroots activities.
By attending alongside ordinary members, the Vice Presidents demonstrated the importance the party attaches to organisational discipline, accountability and direct engagement with grassroots structures.

Other notable members included the National Chairman Hon. OCZ Muchinguri-Kashiri who attended her cell meeting in Mutasa.
